MEEK MILL KEEPS “CONTROL” TO AVOID “GOING BAD”: WHERE WILL THE GAME BETWEEN KENDRICK LAMAR AND DRAKE GO?

Meek Mill is one of the few artists who have taken a neutral stance on the long-standing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake without directly participating, which is not something everyone can do. In the rap world, conflicts between artists often draw them into endless cycles of diss tracks and clashes, but Meek Mill has chosen a different path. When discussing the beef between these two stars, he has never taken sides since the release of his track “Like That” and has always shown respect for both. This was evident in his response to a fan on Friday (September 20): “Nah, I fk with Drake, he’s cool. Him and Kendrick’s beef has nothing to do with me; I fk with K.Dot too. I have all their disses on my playlist right now.”

Meek Mill’s neutral stance is quite surprising considering his history of beef with Drake in the past. They were once fierce rivals in the rap game, with heated diss tracks exchanged and a reconciliation that seemed impossible. Meek was even one of the rappers named and challenged by Kendrick in the infamous “Control” track over a decade ago. However, instead of getting involved in the battle, he chose to support and appreciate the talents of both sides, expressing that he enjoys the competitive spirit and lyrical duels in music. He even released his own freestyles inspired by both “euphoria” and “Family Matters,” showcasing his skills without picking a side.

However, Meek Mill‘s recent social media presence has been dominated by controversies unrelated to the Kendrick and Drake battle. Instead, he found himself caught in the whirlwind of public scrutiny related to the Diddy scandal, where Meek was rumored to be involved, either as a victim or a participant. This led to numerous jokes, jabs, and attacks directed at him online, which he found deeply troubling. On Thursday night (September 19), he tweeted in frustration: “I will personally give you a million dollars if these stories add up in anything weird… There are two things we can’t do in the trenches… no way y’all know what type of man I am. #cybertruck at 12 tap in lil buddy!”

Regarding the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, it seems that Meek Mill and the public can finally consider it a closed chapter. Although both artists once exchanged sharp words and openly clashed through music, things appear to have calmed down. Now, most of the discussion putting them at odds revolves around Kendrick’s Super Bowl performance and whether it was a direct jab at Young Money, rather than their musical battles. Meek Mill did not involve himself in any of this; instead, he simply stands back and enjoys their music.

This highlights how Meek Mill has matured and skillfully navigated relationships within the complex music industry. He has shown admiration for both Kendrick and Drake, turning past conflicts into historical moments of hip-hop that he can enjoy as a loyal spectator. Meek Mill has proven that it’s not always necessary to engage in battles to demonstrate strength, and sometimes, observing from the sidelines with admiration reveals even more about an artist’s personality and vision.
