Despite high hopes, the Bucks still face significant challenges. Their roster is one of the oldest in the NBA, with many key players nearing the end of their careers. Lillard is about to turn 35, Middleton has undergone surgery on both ankles, and center Brook Lopez is 36. Antetokounmpo, who has struggled with injuries in the past two seasons, will also turn 30.
The pressure on the Bucks is immense, especially as their rivals, like the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers, have made bold moves to improve their squads. The Celtics claimed their 18th NBA championship, while the 76ers added Paul George to create a formidable duo with Joel Embiid. Emerging teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, and Indiana Pacers are also rising strongly.
However, the Bucks remain confident in their blend of experience and energy. “We’re not getting younger, but we have the experience and know how to play this game,” Antetokounmpo affirmed. “Our goal is not just to compete but to win.”
