Kim Kardashian, known for her chic and creative flair, has embraced this unique decorating approach for her home this year. Instead of a single large Christmas tree in the living room, Kim has opted for several small trees strategically placed throughout her home, including in her children’s bedrooms: Saint, Psalm, Chicago, and North.

Each tree is personalized with decorations tailored to the preferences of her kids, featuring mini LED lights and ornaments. This thoughtful approach brings a warm, festive vibe to every room while maintaining Kim’s signature elegance.

The Growing Demand for Small Trees

The trend toward smaller Christmas trees is catching on globally, with retailers reporting a surge in sales. Sainsbury’s, for example, has seen a 75% increase in sales of 3ft artificial trees compared to last year. Argos and B&Q have also reported search increases of over 100% and 186%, respectively.

Smaller trees are particularly appealing for modern homes, which often have less space. They provide a practical solution for bringing holiday cheer without the hassle of managing a large tree.

Eco-Friendly Benefits of Small Trees

Beyond practicality, small trees are considered a more eco-friendly option. Retailers like Bloom & Wild offer real, potted mini trees that can be replanted after Christmas, reducing environmental impact compared to traditional large trees.

These small trees are not only beautiful but also encourage a more sustainable approach to holiday decorating, offering a way to enjoy festive greenery year after year.

Why Are Small Trees So Popular?

A survey by Bloom & Wild found that over two-thirds of people choosing small trees this year cited limited space as their main reason. Additionally, nearly 25% said setting up and decorating a large tree felt like too much effort.

Lisa Cherry, Christmas expert at John Lewis, noted: “Tiny trees offer flexibility in decorating. You can still have a perfectly decorated main tree while experimenting with quirky styles on smaller ones.”
