Toronto is basking in the “Lover” era of Taylor Swift, as the pop sensation sells out six shows across two weekends in the city. Not only has she set the city abuzz, but her concerts have also created golden opportunities for local businesses around the Rogers Centre. One standout example is Slider Station, a restaurant and food truck from Scarborough, Ontario, that has made its mark by offering an exclusive menu tailored to Swifties in the heart of the action.

Slider Station’s “Once-in-a-Lifetime” Opportunity
The restaurant’s owner, Bilal M., seized the moment by applying through a little-known City of Toronto program to serve food to the massive crowd expected during the concert series. With over 500,000 people anticipated in the city for the events, Bilal recognized this as not just a revenue boost but a rare chance to showcase his brand to a huge audience.
“Getting approved feels like winning the lottery. You know the odds are slim, but when you get the notice, it’s priceless,” Bilal shared.

He believes that Slider Station’s halal meat offerings gave them a competitive edge, making their food truck one of only four selected for the area.
Exclusive “Taylor’s Version” Menu for Swifties
To stand out, Slider Station introduced a special menu dubbed “Taylor’s Version”, paying homage to the pop icon. Dishes include “Tender Love Story” (fried chicken), “Treacherous Sliders” (cheeseburger sliders), and “Enchanted Sliders” (fried chicken sliders). The highlight, however, is the “Bad Blood Tenders”, inspired by Tennessee hot chicken, a nod to Taylor Swift’s roots.

“We wanted to create something that represents her. Since she grew up in Tennessee, we decided to make Tennessee hot chicken tenders exclusively for this event,” Bilal revealed.
Preparing for a Historic Event
In preparation for the six-night run, Slider Station spent weeks meticulously planning. From streamlining the menu for faster service to bulk ordering ingredients, every detail was carefully managed.
“We had to limit the menu because some items take a long time to prepare. I’ve been ordering in bulk and storing everything to ensure we’re ready,” Bilal explained.
Special Energy from the Swifties
The Taylor Swift concerts are more than just music events—they’re a gathering of passionate fans who even camp outside the Rogers Centre just to soak in the atmosphere. According to Bilal, the energy from the crowd is extraordinary, making Slider Station a go-to spot for hungry fans.
“The fandom is much larger than I imagined. Their energy is truly special,” he noted.
Opening Doors to Toronto’s Market
Looking beyond this event, Bilal hopes Slider Station will transition from being a temporary vendor to a permanent fixture in Toronto’s downtown market. He sees this opportunity as a stepping stone to building a lasting presence in the city.
“This is a chance to showcase Toronto’s culinary style. Hopefully, after the event, people will want us to come back more often,” he said.
With a mix of creativity, strategic preparation, and a touch of Swiftie magic, Slider Station is poised to leave a lasting impression on Toronto’s food scene.
