Coldplay – the famous British rock band – was formed in 1997 in London, England. The original lineup includes Chris Martin – vocalist and pianist, Jonny Buckland – lead guitarist, Guy Berryman – bassist, and Will Champion – drummer. The band, managed by Phil Harvey, released their first album “Safety” in 1998, which paved the way for their signing with Parlophone Records in 1999. By 2000, Coldplay released their official debut album “Parachutes,” featuring the hit song “Yellow,” which skyrocketed their fame globally.

Following “Parachutes,” Coldplay continued to release critically acclaimed and successful albums:

  • A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002)
  • X&Y (2005)
  • Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008)
  • Mylo Xyloto (2011)
  • Ghost Stories (2014)
  • A Head Full of Dreams (2015)
  • Everyday Life (2019)
  • Music of the Spheres (2021)

The band initially went by names such as Big Fat Noises and Starfish before officially settling on Coldplay. These albums not only earned them numerous prestigious awards, including multiple Brit Awards, but also topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts several times.

Coldplay is not only renowned for their music but also for their strong commitment to environmental protection. The band collaborated with The Ocean Cleanup to create the Notebook Edition EcoRecord LP and has significantly reduced their CO2 emissions during their current stadium tour by 59% compared to previous tours. In their announcement for the album “Moon Music,” Coldplay emphasized their continuous dedication to sustainability. This album will be the first in the world to be released as a 140-gram EcoRecord LP, with each copy made from nine recycled PET plastic bottles. This innovative approach highlights Coldplay’s ongoing efforts to make their physical releases as eco-friendly as possible.

“Moon Music” is scheduled for release on October 4, 2024. The first single from the album, “feelslikeimfallinginlove,” will debut on June 21. The album is produced by Max Martin, who has worked with top artists such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Britney Spears, and it promises to be a significant milestone in Coldplay’s career.

This marks Coldplay’s first release since their 2021 album “Music of the Spheres,” and it is already available for digital pre-save and pre-order in CD and vinyl formats. Fans can look forward to hearing the full album in October, eagerly awaiting the new sounds and themes Coldplay will explore.
